Cashew Latte & Cashew Latte Bowl

Can I add protein to my coffee?


We’ve all been there. That time when you’re running out of spin class on your way to work and can’t face downing a protein shake and then a coffee, and didn’t make any protein muffins to have alongside your caffeine hit. It all leaves you debating, can I just add a scoop of protein powder to my latte?


Nutristrength Pea Protein is heat stable so you can add it to your regular coffee by either sprinkling it in and stirring well or, for a smoother result and less chance of clumps, you can mix into the milk first and then add to your coffee.

Choose from either the Cashew Protein Latte, for a vegan take on iced coffee or turn it into a Cashew Latte Bowl for when you have a bit more time and want your breakfast, protein and caffeine hit rolled into one.


Both are made using our delicious Pea Protein Smooth Coffee that is flavoured with natural flavourings so there is no artificial or bitter aftertaste and, as there’s no caffeine in the protein itself, you can choose whether yours is a decaf.


Ingredients


For the Cashew Vegan Protein Coffee


1 scoop Pea Protein Smooth Coffee


2 cups ice


1 tsp vanilla powder


1tsp instant coffee


200g soft tofu


1/2 tbsp Monk fruit natural sweetener (feel free to use any other sweetener)


1/2 cup pre-soaked cashews


1 tbsp vegan yoghurt (I used COYO)


1 cup cashew milk (I used Plenish)


For the Cashew Creamy Bowl


1 scoop Pea Protein Smooth Coffee


1 tsp instant coffee


200g soft tofu


1 tbsp cashew butter


1/2 tbsp Monk fruit natural sweetener (feel free to use any other sweetener)


1 tbsp vegan yoghurt (I used COYO)


1\\3 cup cashew milk (I used Plenish)

Vegan Protein Coffee Method


For the Cashew Vegan Protein Latte



  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender, then mix until thick and creamy.

  2. Pour into a glass.

  3. Sprinkle with raw cacao and add the soaked cashew cream on the top. Enjoy!


For the Cashew Creamy Bowl



  1. Add soft tofu into a bowl, followed by the rest of the ingredients.

  2. Using a hand blender, blend until smooth and creamy.

  3. Pour into a bowl, and add raw cacao powder and cashew butter for toppings. Enjoy!
